At the initiative of the Organization of Turkic States, an online meeting was held on the establishment of the Turkic Pharmacopoeia. The meeting was attended by representatives of regulatory authorities in the pharmaceutical field of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. At this meeting, the Republic of Azerbaijan was represented by employees of Analytical Expertise Center of the Ministry of Health Chingiz Shukurov and Hamid Gurbanov. At this meeting, which is of very important importance, a number of proposals were put forward and discussed to create a joint pharmacopoeia between Turkic-speaking countries and support this process.
Among the proposals, important issues were raised such as organizing testing for professionalism among laboratories of regulatory authorities of Turkic-speaking countries, determining the language of the pharmacopoeia that will be prepared, preparing a list of representatives of member countries who will participate in the development of the pharmacopoeia, and others. The issue of coordination at the government level with the preparation of the Turkic pharmacopoeia and the speedy completion of preparatory work was also brought to attention.
