Department of Pharmaceutical Inspection
The Department exercises state control over the activities of pharmaceutical enterprises in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the requirements of relevant legal documents, regardless of the form of ownership, as well as over the safety and quality of medicines in circulation in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
For this department:
- In accordance with the law, conducts unscheduled (off-shift) inspections in pharmacies on the basis of scheduled (regular) and on the basis of incoming complaints, certificates and applications (Inspections are carried out in accordance with the requirements “On the procedure for conducting inspections in the field of entrepreneurship and protecting the interests of entrepreneurs”, approved by the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 2, 2013 and the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 15, 2011 “Form and procedure for maintaining a unified register of these inspections carried out in the field of entrepreneurship. When inspecting a pharmaceutical company, the fulfillment of the requirements of the Laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Medicines”, “On Licenses and Permits”, “On Protection of Public Health” and annexes approved by the Decision of the Collegium of the Ministry of Health dated 11.01.2018 No. 01 “On approval of certain regulatory legal acts, regulating pharmaceutical activity”
- evaluates the compliance of pharmacy organizations with the requirements of regulatory legal acts on the basis of applications received from the Ministry of Economy to the Ministry of Health for giving an opinion on this issue in accordance with the Law No. 176-VK dated March 15, 2016 “On licenses and permits” of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
- Participates in the issuance of an opinion on obtaining a special permit from the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, the circulation of which is limited on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, psychotropic substances, the circulation of which is controlled by Azerbaijan on the territory of the Republic, preparations containing potent or poisonous substances that are not related to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances;
- Selects samples of medicines produced in the country and imported into the country for appropriate laboratory tests;
- Control over the circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, the circulation of which is controlled, restricted or prohibited in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as precursors intended for medical use, potent and toxic substances, the import of which requires a license Export, transit transportation and production in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan is carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
