International Pharmacists Day was established on September 25, 2009 by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) at a Congress held annually in Istanbul.
As the federation explained, the pharmacist accompanies this process at all stages until the patient receives the medicine. The work of this specialist is a guarantee of the responsible use of medicines. Every day, 3 million pharmacists around the world interact with patients to ensure the safe, effective and efficient use of medications. Providing the population with safe medicines is one of the most pressing problems of our time. According to statistics, the problem of medicine safety has already become a global problem that goes beyond national borders.
Celebrating International Pharmacists Day is a good opportunity and educational opportunity to learn about the importance of pharmacists in the healthcare system.
