Based on the provision of the Rules of Pharmacovigilance of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 503 dated December 25, 2019 on conducting basic trainings, on May 16-17, 2023, at the Analytical Expertise Center of the Ministry of Health, with the joint cooperation of the AEC and TABIB (Union for the Management of Medical Territorial Units) was organized “Basic training on pharmacovigilance” in order to provide methodological assistance to those responsible for pharmacovigilance.
In the training, Farid Hasanov, head of the Pharmacovigilance Department of AEC, employees of the department, Khalisa Akbarova, Rafiga Ibrahimova, Farida Aslanli, as well as representatives of TABIB Elmin Guliyev, Sevda Ibrahimova and Firuza Allahguliyeva, made a presentation as speakers. The training was attended by persons responsible for pharmacovigilance from 32 medical institutions covering various regions of our republic, who were informed about pharmacovigilance and its goals, the history of pharmacovigilance, the WHO International Drug Monitoring Program, the current legislation on pharmacovigilance and the pharmacovigilance system in the Republic of Azerbaijan, also important topics were covered such as additional methods of reporting side effects, classification of side effects, clinical management of side effects after immunization, etc.
Also, the training participants were practically demonstrated such important operations as filling out reporting cards, how to send an online report, processing notifications in the WHO VigiFlow system, encoding data in VigiFlow, VigiLyze, VigiBase. At the end of each workshop, participants’ questions were answered and discussions took place.
At the end of the training, participants were awarded certificates.
