A training on the topic “Organization and management of pharmacovigilance in private treatment and prevention institutions” for representatives of private treatment and prevention institutions was held on December 18, 2024 at the Analytical Expertise Center (AEC) of MOH. The training was opened with an introductory speech by Farid Hasanov, Head of the Pharmacovigilance Department of the AEC. During the training, Fidan Kamranli, Chief Specialist of the Pharmacovigilance Department of the Center, made a presentation on the mentioned topic and brought the following aspects to the attention of the participants:
- Pharmacovigilance and its importance. Purpose and role in the healthcare system.
- International standards, legislative acts and regulations on pharmacovigilance.
- The person responsible for pharmacovigilance and the requirements imposed on him. Responsibilities of manufacturers, distributors and healthcare workers and submission of notifications to the AEC about side effects arising from the use of medicines.
- Pharmacovigilance rules for medical and pharmaceutical workers, determination of criteria for assessing side effects.
- The importance of regular pharmacovigilance training in medical institutions.
- Rules for filling out the notification form, requirements for submitting a report and submission deadlines.
- Visually demonstrate to participants the submission of side effect information online
A total of 22 representatives from 19 private treatment and prevention institutions participated in the training. The questions of the training participants were answered and a comprehensive explanation of the participants, including an analysis of real examples from experience, was presented. The training concluded with discussions clarifying complex or controversial issues.
