On February 5, 2025, at the Analytical Expertise Center of MOH of the Republic of Azerbaijan was organized a training for representatives of private healthcare institutions on the topic “Organization and Management of Pharmacovigilance in Private Healthcare Institutions. Side Effects.” The training was opened with a welcome speech by Farid Hasanov, Head of the Pharmacovigilance Department of AEC.
During the training, Fidan Kamranli, the Senior Specialist of the Pharmacovigilance Department of the Center, presented on the topic, covering the following aspects:
- Pharmacovigilance and its significance. Its role and purpose in the healthcare system.
- International pharmacovigilance standards, legislative acts, and regulations.
- Responsible persons for pharmacovigilance and their requirements. The responsibilities of manufacturers, distributors, and healthcare workers, as well as the process of submitting notifications about adverse effects.
- Pharmacovigilance rules for medical and pharmaceutical professionals, criteria for assessing side effects.
- The importance of regularly conducting pharmacovigilance training in healthcare institutions.
- The procedure for filling out notification forms, reporting requirements, and submission deadlines.
- Demonstration of how to submit information about adverse effects online.
Notification cards were distributed to participants, and the procedure for completing them was demonstrated. A total of 22 representatives from 21 private healthcare institutions attended the training. Participants’ questions were answered, and real-life examples from practice were analyzed in detail.
