With 53 members worldwide, PIC/S undoubtedly is one of the most effective tools for cooperation in the field of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) inspection between regulatory authorities of different countries. Adaptation of national GMP legislation to existing international requirements and guidelines, efficient use of resources, benefit from training and seminars conducted by PIC/S and improve knowledge and skills of GMP inspectors, sharing of information related to GMP Inspection and joining of the organization for global network and many other reasons made AEC to apply for joining the pre-applicant procedure from August.
“Starting from 18.08.2020, AEC entered the PIC/S membership procedure (initial stage). For this reason, 3 employees of the Center actively participated in the annual meeting of the PIC/S committee, which took place online on April 20-21, 2021. The status of the Analytical Expert Center’s membership and the work to be done in this field were brought to attention at the meeting attended by more than 100 representatives from 60 regulatory bodies of the world, including international and regional organizations. According to the 2021 PIC/S work plan and event management principles the draft plan was sent by email on February 19, 2021, and audit of the PIC/S Analytical Expertise Center for the purpose of preliminary assessment is provided for the 3rd quarter of 2022. For this purpose, according to the letter sent by mail by the PIC/S secretariat on 04.12.2021, a country reporter for Azerbaijan has already been appointed. The CEO of AEM concluded his speech by these words:”We are looking forward for both – the appreciation of the reporter and the opinion that will be given to our Center”.
