To track in the present time all stages from the moment of production/import to delivery to the final consumer, in order to ensure the safety of medicines and prevent smuggling, from 01/01/2024 a phased application of the “Tracking and Tracing System of Medicines” is planned. At the initial stage, tracking of psychotropic drugs will begin and potent medicines, from June 1, 2024, all locally produced medicines and products in the warehouses of wholesale pharmaceutical institutions, as well as in medical institutions and pharmacies.
As part of the action plan for the application of the “Tracking and Tracing System of Medicines”, in Analytical Expertise Center of the Ministry of Health, the head of the Quality Management Department Said Farzullaev and the founders of this system, employees of the Turkish company “TC Health” Yusuf Akay and Umit Topbash, 10/31/2023 -02.11.2023 trainings were organized for representatives of enterprises involved in the circulation of medicines.
On the first day, a 3-day training, local manufacturers and representatives of wholesale pharmaceutical enterprises were involved, on the second day – representatives of pharmacies, and the last day – representatives of private medical institutions.
During the training, participants were provided with the necessary information on the use of subsystems. “QR code order”, “Production Notification”, “Import Notification”, “Transfer Notification”, “Pharmacy Sales Notification”, as well as “Health Institution Consumption Notification”. Questions that arose during the interactive trainings were answered in detail and discussions were held.
It should be noted that the application of the “Tracking and Tracing System of Medicines”, the implementation of the Law of the Azerbaijan Republic dated July 14, 2023 “On Amendments to the Law of the Azerbaijan Republic “On Medicines” and the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic dated August 15, 2023.
