In May of the current year, the 1st Global Joint Summit was held in Geneva, Switzerland, on the initiative of the WHO, with the participation of the heads of regulatory agencies of human and veterinary medicines, dedicated to the topic “Phase-out of the sale of antibiotics without a prescription”. Murad Suleymanov, director general of Analytical Expertise Center of the Ministry of Health, participated in the said meeting.
At the summit, emphasizing the importance of regulating antibiotic resistance at the global level, on modern solutions to optimize the use of existing medicines, presentations were shown on the experience of the USA, Great Britain, Argentina, France and other advanced countries in this direction.
In addition, Murad Suleymanov and Shamil Aydemirov, head of the Center’s Quality Management Department, participated in the 52nd meeting of the Organization at the invitation of the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S) in May. At the meeting, the annual reports of the permanent members of the organization and the candidate countries for permanent membership were heard, and issues arising from the strategic plan for 2023-2027 were discussed.
The Director General of the Center informed the management of the organization about the activities of Analytical Expertise Center, the measures taken to select permanent members of PİC/S and the work to be carried out in the near future.
