With the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan joined the International Drug Monitoring Program of WHO, and the Analytical Expertise Center (AEC) was appointed as a national center for pharmacovigilance. The AEC has established a relationship with the Uppsala Drug Monitoring Center, which is responsible for the implementation of the program. As a result of all the work done, on January 23, 2018, Azerbaijan was approved by WHO as the 130th full member of the International Drug Monitoring Program. AEC, as the National Center for Pharmacovigilance of the Republic of Azerbaijan, carries out all the work necessary to ensure the safety and efficacy of medicines, and expands international cooperation in this area.
We are proud that in April of this year, on the first pages of the official journal “Reports” of the Uppsala Monitoring Center, distributed in 150 countries of the world, an article by Farid Hasanov, Head of the Pharmacovigilance Department, was published on the work done by the AEC in the field of pharmacovigilance in Azerbaijan and prospects.
