The Eurasian Pharmaceutical Summit took place in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, from October 7 to 9. Representatives from the CIS countries, Latvia and Georgia took part in it. The 2025 summit, the sixth in its series, gathered over 400 delegates and 100 speakers — representatives of government regulators, pharmaceutical companies, manufacturers, distributors, and pharmacy chains.
The key directions and main topics included the regulation of medicinal products; development of local production and promotion of investments; public procurement and pharmaceutical supply; implementation of digital solutions and innovations in pharmacy; development of retail and pharmacy networks; as well as prospects for social insurance and public health protection. During the summit, participants also visited several pharmaceutical infrastructure facilities, as well as research and manufacturing sites.
The Eurasian Pharmaceutical Summit 2025 became a key platform for discussing ways to develop regional cooperation, improve regulatory frameworks, and strengthen partnerships between government agencies and the private sector of the pharmaceutical industry. This year, the Analytical Expertise Center was represented at the summit by Deputy General Director Rafiq Khudaev, Head of Quality Management Department Shamil Aydamirov, Head of Pharmaceutical Track and Trace Department Said Farzullaev, Deputy Head of Registration-Expertise Department of Medicines Azer Hasanov, and Deputy Head of Pharmacovigilance Department Khalisa Akperova.
On the first day of the summit, Rafik Khudaev delivered a welcome speech and provided information about the Center’s activities and the priority areas currently on the agenda. During the discussions and round tables, Azer Hasanov, Said Farzullaev, and Khalisa Akperova answered questions related to registration of medicines, pharmacovigilance, clinical trials, and the medicines tracking system in Azerbaijan. During the session dedicated to Azerbaijani regulators, Shamil Aydamirov gave a presentation on the main priorities for supporting the development of the local production system. Azer Hasanov, Said Farzullaev, and Khalisa Akperova also presented on the current status of registration and expertise of medicines, tracking and labeling systems, and pharmacovigilance. Afterwards, the delegation responded to questions from the audience.
The presentations by our country’s representatives attracted great interest among summit participants. During the summit, the delegation was received by Alisher Temirov, Director of the Pharmaceutical Product Safety Center under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The meeting covered aspects of mutual cooperation.
The Eurasian Pharmaceutical Summit 2025 confirmed the importance of regional cooperation and experience exchange among government regulators, manufacturers, and distributors. The forum became an effective platform for discussing prospects for cooperation and strengthening integration in healthcare and pharmaceuticals across the Eurasian region.
